AboutEdit

Anubis is actually not the Egyptian format of his name. The correct term is "Anpu". "Anubis" is the Greek rendering of Anpu. Anubis is a son of Osiris and Nephthys, and a decendant of Geb and Nut. He is the god of funerals and mummification, but sometimes he is portayed as the god of death.

AppearanceEdit

Usually black or dark blue in color, Anubis had the body of a man and the head of a jackal. Anubis was always painted a dark color to represent the color of rotting flesh and the fertile soil near the Nile river. He is usually pictured standing over a mummified body or standing upright, grasping an Ankh and a cane.
